But I don't believe in God.

A fresh college graduate returned to his village after finishing his college education. Next day morning, the family gathered for the morning prayers. This young man sneaked out of the prayer room and got noticed by the father. After the prayer, father asked the son if that is what he has learned in College.
He replied, “Dad, you don’t know anything. There is no God or anything like that. It is all false beliefs that are being followed from centuries. Open up your mind and give up those age old beliefs in the light of Science and technology.”
“Son, who do you think created this world and the living beings?”
“Father, according to the Scientists like Darwin and others, the earth came into existence when a piece
of burning matter, separated from sun, cooled down. Then the air got cooled down, water got formed and circumstances got created for the formation of a living cell.
With time eventually, all other forms of living beings came into existence.”

“Hmm… that sounds interesting,” replied the father while worrying about the kind of education that his son got. With his boosted ego, the son left the house to meet his friends.
Meanwhile, the father painted a beautiful picture and hanged it in his son’s room. When son came back in the evening, he asked, “Father, how did this beautiful picture land in my room?”
“Son, it just came on its own. You know, today the cool wind was blowing. Due to humidity and favorable air temperature, such circumstances got created that this beautiful picture came into existence.”
The son understood the sarcastic remarks from his father. “Father, please stop kidding me. If there is a painting, then there has to be a painter as well?”
Son, if a simple painting cannot come into existence without a painter, then how could you believe that this beautiful world came into existence on its own, without any creator?
The son acknowledged his mistake and started listening to the pious message of his father. His father continued, “Well, the decision to believe in the God or not is all at your discretion. No one else should be able to enforce beliefs upon you, not even your parents or your church or temple. However, you should be cautious to keep your mind open, so that you don’t become a victim of narrow mindedness. Now, please tell me – do you believe that you will die one day? Do you believe that you will stumble upon illness, grief or unhappiness during the course of life?”
“Sure. I can’t deny that,” replied the son.
“Do you intentionally digest your food, absorb vitamins, grow your hairs, grow old, grow flowers or change seasons?”
“I would have to say that I don’t,” replied the son wondering about the implication of his father’s questions.
“You see, you don’t want illness, grief, unhappiness or death; even then you can’t escape them. You don’t intentionally digest your food, circulate your blood, grow your hairs, grow old or change seasons, but even then some higher power is doing all this. So, you can’t deny the existence of a Supreme Intelligence that is operating this universe, including your body, in a perfect harmony and with magnificent precision. You will be amazed if you look at the brilliance and precision with which the galaxies, the stars, the sun, the planet and the earth are operating. At the same time, you will be awe stuck if you look at the sub atomic levels and how that magnificent energy appears to be the concrete matter. The same energy resides in your heart and encourages you when you do something good or discourages you, when you try to harm others. The same energy energizes your mind and gives rise to the thoughts of happiness and sorrow. This same omnipresent, eternal, conscious and blissful energy is what we refer to true God, the impersonal God or the Supreme Intelligence. Now, do you acknowledge God?”
With all his proud blown off, the son acknowledged the wisdom of his father and replied, “Well Dad, I do acknowledge the presence of such Supreme Intelligence, if that is what you are referring as God.”
Father expressed his satisfaction with a smile and uttered a few more words of true wisdom that left the son wondering for rest of the evening, “Son, I must now clarify that the God that I am referring to is not the painter or the creator of this world. However, He is the dancer of this magnificent dance, which has taken the form of this illusionary world.”
