Be a true seeker and then pursue inner happiness

There are two types of spiritual seekers, one who consider themselves as the worldly being, enjoy the material world and then continue to pursue their seeking as a hobby or as a social obligation. And second, who consider themselves as the seeker of Supreme Truth and continue to lead their worldly life without giving it much of an importance. They know the fact that the purpose of their life is to seek the Supreme Truth about the Self, about the God and thereby gain eternal bliss.

In the material world, we consider ourselves student first and then pursue studies; we assume ourselves businessman first, and then try to do business; we consider ourselves a dancer first, and then begin to learn dance; we consider ourselves artist first, and then learn the art. Then, why can’t a seeker act like a seeker only while pursuing the supreme goal of life?
One of the reasons is that most of us don’t want to take on the responsibility of being a true seeker of Supreme Truth. We don’t want to let go of the desires to indulge in the sensual momentary pleasures.

Even in the material pursuits, those who don’t take their goal seriously and continue their pursuit under some obligation or a hobby, rarely succeeds. Similarly, I have seen devotees who continue to perform prayers throughout the life, but there is no music in their heart. There are many seekers who continue to search for the supreme Truth throughout their lives, but remain full of doubts till the end. One of the reasons is the absence of seriousness in their spiritual pursuit.

However a true seeker lives the life of a true seeker after taking on the responsibilities of a true seeker. While conducting in the worldly affairs, in the back of the mind of such a seeker, there remains a thirst to find the Supreme Truth and a hunger for the wisdom of the Self. Such a seeker doesn’t seek the truth just by curiosity or under some obligation. For such a seeker, the search of Supreme Truth becomes the utmost purpose of life. Such a seeker appears to conduct in the material world, but deep inside remains untouched by the happenings and enjoyments of the material world. For such a seeker, spiritual pursuit becomes a divine passion like someone who is in love.

Such a sincere and passionate seeker begins to enjoy every moment of the journey to the Self consciousness. Such a seeker begins to assimilate the words of true wisdom of the Self. Such a seeker remains equanimous during the happy and sad moments of worldly life. Such a passionate seeker begins to tune to the eternal music of joy that is playing in our hearts. And with time, God, the Supreme Consciousness reveals Himself in the heart of such a sincere seeker. From that moment on, all doubts are vanished and the seeker becomes the saint after fulfilling the supreme purpose of life.
