Establish yourself in your original blissful nature

In continuation of our discussion about the mental tendencies or sanskaars in the previous blog, lets discuss how can you utilize this wisdom to step over the impact of all previous sanskaars and establish yourself in your original blissful nature. Water falls downward on its own (because of gravity, a natural phenomenon), but you have to put in efforts to uplift the water. Similarly, it is natural for human mind to be impacted by the first four kinds of sanskaars (Sanskaars associated with previous birth or genetic inheritance , the parents and family , the environment and with your present life decisions ). However, you have to put in extra effort, you have to work consciously to regain the original sanskaars of your pure consciousness. It won't happen on its own.

The natural tendency of the mind is to pull you towards the outer world. The first four kind of sanskaars pulls you towards the outer world, while the sanskaars associated with your true nature helps you to establish in the inner peace and inner happiness.
The first four types are sanskaars are responsible for all the restlessness, fear, greed, attachment, anxiety and miseries of human life, while the fifth type of sanskaars helps you to regain your original fearless, peaceful and blissful nature. Deep down the core of all living beings, the original sanskaars of peace, eternity, love, wisdom and blissfulness remain alive. A true seeker continue to strengthen the pure sanskaars of true Self by spending time in the company of holy men, by listening to their talks, by reflecting on the wisdom of Self  in solitude, by chanting the name of God, by doing meditation and all such means which brings his attention towards the original nature of consciousness. In this manner, the true seeker is able to negate the affect of first four types of sanskaars and wake up in the realization of the original sanskaar of Sat-Chit-Anand (Eternal-Conscious-Blissful) Self. A lotus flower remains untouched by water. Similarly after establishing in the original nature of Self, the true seeker continue to conduct in the outer world under the impact of first four types of sanskaars, but remain untouched from within.

In this regard, I would like to tell you about two short stories that would further clarify your understanding of the original nature of all conscious beings. Sant Lilashaji called his disciple Asaram once and said, “Dear son, this is a rose flower in my hand, just smell it. What do you think?”

“Sir, the beautiful fragrance of this flower touch my heart. I love it.”

“Now, put this flower on top of sugar and sweet on that corner and smell it again.”

Asaram did the same and said while smelling it, “Sir, it is still the same.”

“Now, put it on the bag of rice and smell it again.”

“Dear Master, it smells still the same.”

“Now put it on your shoes and on the grass over there. Smell it again.”

“Sir, it still smells the same.”

“Now, live in this world like this rose without getting impacted by the surroundings and spread your fragrance in the world.”

The same disciple eventually established himself in his true blissful Self and is spreading his fragrance in this world among millions of true seekers as Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu.

Another short story: A holy man and a scorpion

A holy man, who was established in the original nature of consciousness, was taking a dip in the holy water of river Ganges. He saw a scorpion that was struggling in the water to float. The holy man tried to save the scorpion by trying to put him on a leaf. He got bitten by the scorpion twice, but he didn’t stop. He continued his efforts to save the scorpion.

A passer-by was watching all this while sitting on the banks of the river. He asked the holy man, “Sir, it is the nature of this cruel scorpion to bite and spread his poison. Why are you trying to save it?”

“Son, let him act as per his nature and I will continue to act as per my nature. I know that it's his nature to bite. But, I can't help it as its my nature to save.”

Irrespective of the circumstances and surroundings, the true seeker always remain established in his original nature of pure consciousness and continue to spread his fragrance in the world.
